The 80s was a golden era for Japanese ambient and new age music. Most of the songs here were originally conceived as soundtracks for products in Japanese TV adverts. Despite their strange origins, Kankyō Ongaku - Japanese for ‘environmental music’ - is calm, expansive and contemplative music, the perfect music for concentration.
